A Semi-annual/Anytime Writers Exercise.

Writer’s Challenges A Reliable Mainstay

Writer’s challenges and many varied related exercises have long been a reliable mainstay to induce and sustain healthy writing productivity. It’s the necessary elbow grease of every successful writer.

It’s been quite a few years since I completed my very first writers group challenge. I still find this particular one to be a good exercise anytime in between writing stints or after long periods working on larger works.

The writer’s group had issued the writing challenge which was actually a reading exercise. It wasn’t a new type of challenge but each previous challenge had reportedly always been helpful and one was guaranteed to come away having learned more than they already knew, be mentally astute, ready for the next waiting, writing project.

The challenge involved reading four different books, all climbing the best sellers list at the time. Each a different genre; one romance, one adventure, one mystery, intrigue, sci fi and adventure wrapped in one, the last one escapes me and it will bug me until I remember which book it was but you get the idea.
